2023 Chairman, Patty Breig


Patty Breig is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and the University of Dayton with a master’s degree in materials engineering. She worked in manufacturing for 38 years and retired early at the end of 2019.

Patty spent 25 years with Flowserve (formerly the Duriron Company in Dayton) in engineering, outside sales, and as the general manager for the manufacturing sites of the Flowserve plastic group in Springboro and the Flowserve Foundry operations in Dayton. She joined Chemineer in Dayton in 2006 where she held positions of general manager and managing director of Chemineer globally. From 2015 through 2019, she served as global vice president of safety and quality for a 2,900-employee division of NOV, Chemineer’s parent company headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Patty has served on the DRMA board of trustees since 2018 and as chair of the board in 2023. Patty looks forward to using her skills, knowledge, and experience to assist manufacturers in the Dayton Region and to encourage people to seek training and education to enter the exciting and rewarding field of manufacturing.

Patty calls the Dayton Region home where she enjoys 42 years of marriage with her husband, two married daughters, and three wonderful grandchildren.

New Board Members


Marc Gilardi is the president and owner of A & B Machine and Design located in Sidney. Founded in 1995, and purchased by Marc and his wife Colleen in 2007, A & B Machine focuses on high precision machined components and assemblies for the print, food equipment, automation, and firearms markets. Upon graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, Marc began his career at Honda of America’s Anna engine plant, holding various positions from engineering to assistant manager over the course of 11 years. The highlight of his tenure at Honda was leading a team that developed a new process to produce cast iron cylinder liners utilizing a centrifugal casting method. Marc has been active in DRMA for several years and regularly relies upon DRMA as a resource for all aspects of his business. It is Marc’s hope that he can help continue the mission of the DRMA as well as provide input and new ideas based on his experience. Marc fills a regular seat on the Board.

Tayte French-Lutz is vice president and treasurer of French Oil Mill Machinery Company in Piqua, a family-owned business that designs, manufactures, and supports hydraulic press systems for molding rubber and composite materials. Tayte is a knowledgeable executive with experience in international business, family business, manufacturing, and the fashion industry. She is responsible for brand management, marketing, PR, and the company's financial investments while also assisting with production support, manufacturing scheduling and sales. In line with the company's core value of partnership, Tayte actively promotes manufacturing awareness and STEM education, and is actively engaged in advocating for manufacturers by serving on both DRMA’s and the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association’s government relations committees. Tayte is a graduate of The Madeira School, The A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, and the Harvard Business School Owner/President Manager Program. Tayte fills a regular seat on the Board.

Chris Jones is the vice president of operations at Norwood Medical, a 95-year-old Dayton company that is a key supplier to the medical device industry. They have capabilities that include CNC machining, stamping, metal injection molding, vacuum heat treat, and process automation. Prior to joining Norwood, he held various roles in manufacturing and product engineering in the automotive industry. He has held various roles at Norwood; he specifically has enjoyed collaborating with customers to meet their ever-changing needs and building an organization that gets things done. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering. Chris fills a regular seat on the Board.

A.J. Rolling is owner and president of Cat-Wood Metalworks, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) precision machine shop supporting the defense industry, located in Moraine. A.J. is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s and doctorate degrees in aerospace engineering. He was an engineer throughout his Air Force career and taught gas turbine engine design at the United States Air Force Academy for his last 7 years. He earned a Bronze Star for his deployment to Afghanistan in 2013. After military retirement in 2015, he was a civil servant at the Air Force Research Lab as product lead for afterburners and rotating detonation combustion systems. He became an owner of Cat-Wood in 2017 and became full owner in 2022. A.J. has been engaged with DRMA’s workforce initiatives since joining Cat-Wood. A.J. fills a regular seat on the Board.

Mike Sander is the strategic market growth principal at MLA Companies, headquartered in Dayton, who provides fractional accounting services, CFOs and strategic advisors to small- and medium-sized businesses. They help owners better steward their investments in their clients, employees, and communities. Mike helps his clients achieve above-market growth through strategic marketing, particularly in manufacturing. Prior to joining MLA, Mike served in senior leadership positions with numerous manufacturers including 13 years being immersed in Emerson’s fiscally disciplined culture. Mike has been involved with DRMA for eight years serving as chair for the AMTS and Member Services committees. Mike fills the associate seat on the Board.
